Dragonfish is a multi-award winning, global, culture and performance consultancy based in London. I was approached by the team to design a new culture benchmarking tool to replace the suite of SAAS products they were using to collect data and deliver reports. Dragonfish had collected a huge data set which they used in their culture benchmarking process.

Challenge

Being on opposite time-zones is always an interesting challenge, however, for this project the greatest challenges were helping align the team on their “MVP”, while taking into consideration budget restraints, user requirements and business objectives. Keeping the benchmark data safe, relevant and robust, while competing against larger, well established competitors were also primary challenges.

Solution

Over 8 weeks we ran a series of remote Design and Iterations Sprints with key stakeholders. I worked in the evening to ensure we had 3 - 5 hours of overlap each day. My process is heavily influenced by both the Google Ventures and AJ & Smart approach to Design Sprints. As part of my process I often act as a Design Operation and Product Management coach for pre-revenue teams.
